Happily Never After
A fashion editorial that focusses on popular Disney princesses and the mental disorders hidden under their quirks.
The project draws inspiration from the work of Polish visual artist and photographer Laura Makabresku whose work focuses on the dark depths of negativity in the human psyche while also drawing from the fantasy of fairy tales.
The photography and setting is an ode to film noir's expressionist lighting, deep-focus or depth of field camera work, disorienting visual schemes, jarring editing, ominous shadows, skewed camera angles and unbalanced or moody compositions.
